Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah accused of allowing sex abuse

A new lawsuit accuses the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah organization of not doing enough to stop a mentor from sexually abusing a young boy over nearly a five-year period.

The organization was served with a state civil lawsuit Tuesday that accuses it of being negligent in allowing the alleged abuser, Antonio Cardenas, to be a mentor.

The lawsuit says the alleged victim was 7-years-old when the abuse started in 2004. He is now 20-years-old. He is not named in the lawsuit.
