Skidmore College Blocks Student’s Re-entry

Albany Times Union

A suspended Skidmore College student who was found to have sexually assaulted a female student last year will not return to the school this fall, according to statements released by the victim and her attorney Thursday.

Reina Keifer, a 19-year-old sophomore from Berkeley, Calif., was sexually assaulted on the Skidmore campus last year. Unhappy with the college’s handling of the case, she organized a campus protest this month of her attacker’s readmission hearing to Skidmore. The school decided to suspend the male for another two years, at which time it could hold another re-admittance hearing if he chooses, Keifer’s attorney said. Below are statements from Keifer, her attorney and Skidmore College, which declined to confirm its decision, citing student privacy.
